Timing is Everything

We have all been there. It is midnight, we cannot seem to fall asleep. We decide to scroll through articles on a website and see a great, beneficial article we think our followers will enjoy AND we post it. Yes, at midnight. The next morning there is no engagement with the article that you thought was wonderful! Why not?! The answer is: timing.

People follow hundreds, if not thousands, of people on social media platforms. Important posts can get buried rather quickly unless someone goes right to your page.
The best times for posting vary on different social media platforms.

Here are just a few examples of peak times that users seem to be engaged:
Twitter: 12:00pm-3:00pm
Facebook: 2:00pm-5:00pm
Instagram: 5:00pm-6:00pm
Pinterest: 8:00pm-12:00am (Weekend mornings are great too!)
Google+: 9:00am-12:00pm

I always say this “Think before you post”. I believe it rings true on all different levels. I now add to that “check the clock before you post”.
